This 4-week How To Handstand yoga series is designed to help you build a strong foundation and gain the strength, flexibility, and confidence needed to achieve a handstand. Each week will focus on specifics drills, classes, meditations, and journal prompts to help you progress towards your goals.

This is an Intermediate to Advanced level series.

How To Handstand will walk you through a variety of entries into handstand by using the wall, kicking, floating & pressing. 

This series will provide a methodical combination of pranayama, drills, full flows & meditations to build the physical & mental strength & flexibility needed to balance on your hands.

We will be working on the Fire Element & the Manipura (Solar Plexus) Chakra.

Meaning, the anatomical focuses are: deep core, compression, shoulder strength, hamstring & hip flexibility, wrist stretching therapy & flexibility. 

And the mental & emotional focuses are: confidence, inner strength, alchemy & trust. 

Each week will strategically build in order to safely & effectively prepare your mind & body for different entries into handstands. 


Week 1: Handstand With The Wall

Week 2: Kicking Into Handstand

Week 3: Floating Into Handstand

Week 4: Pressing Into Handstand


Weekly Layout:

Day 1: Pranayama

Day 2: Strength Drill

Day 3: Flexibility Drill

Day 4: Full Flow

Day 5: Meditation

Day 6: Journal

Day 7: Rest


Even if you’re not quite ready for more advanced full flows (particularly floating & pressing flows), please make sure to still try the pranayama, drills & meditations.

Additionally, even if you already have a strong handstand practice, make sure to still practice all drills & flows to continually cultivate strength for more advanced transitions & variations in the future.
